All church-related content, names, trademarks, and references are the property of their respective owners and are used here solely for informational and educational purposes.

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using My Liahona (the "Service") operated at https://app.myliahona.app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

2. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to promptly update it if it changes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Unofficial Nature of the Service

My Liahona is an independent, community-built tool. It is NOT an official product of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church has not reviewed, approved, or endorsed this application. Any references to church materials, scriptures, or teachings are for informational purposes only and should not be considered official church positions or doctrine.

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or hallucinations. It should NOT be relied upon as doctrinally authoritative, spiritually binding, or a substitute for personal scripture study, prayer, or guidance from church leaders. You use AI-generated content at your own risk and discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems; interfere with or disrupt the Service; upload malicious code or content; impersonate another person or entity; use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others; or violate any applicable laws or regulations.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings. Refunds are handled by the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).

Prices are subject to change. We will notify you of price changes before your next billing period. Credit packs, if available, are non-refundable one-time purchases that supplement an active subscription.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding user-generated content and third-party materials) are the property of My Liahona and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you create using the Service, but grant us a limited license to store and process it as necessary to provide the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, My Liahona AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT, LOSS OF DATA, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless My Liahona, its operators, and contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app or by contacting us at contact@myliahona.app. Upon deletion, your personal data, chat history, and usage records will be permanently removed from our systems.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
