All church-related content, names, trademarks, and references are the property of their respective owners and are used here solely for informational and educational purposes.
My Liahona ("we", "us", or "our") operates the My Liahona mobile application and website at https://app.myliahona.app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including chat messages you send, AI responses generated, search queries, credit usage, and subscription status. This data is used to provide and improve the Service.
Device and Technical Data: We may collect device type, operating system, app version, and anonymized analytics to improve performance and stability.
Payment Information: Payments are processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe (via RevenueCat). We do not directly collect or store your credit card number or payment credentials. We receive subscription status and transaction identifiers from these payment processors.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: provide, operate, and maintain the Service; process transactions and manage your subscription; respond to your inquiries and provide customer support; improve the Service and develop new features; comply with legal obligations; and detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
3. AI-Generated Content
My Liahona uses third-party AI and search providers (such as OpenRouter, xAI, and Firecrawl) to generate responses. Your prompts and chat content may be transmitted to these providers for processing. We do not control how third-party AI providers handle data beyond our contractual agreements with them. AI-generated responses are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or doctrinally authoritative.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with: third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service (hosting, payment processing, AI providers, analytics); law enforcement or regulatory authorities if required by law; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app's Profile settings or by contacting us at contact@myliahona.app.
6. Account Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Upon deletion, we will permanently remove your account information, chat history, usage data, and subscription records from our systems. Some anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure password hashing (bcrypt), and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@myliahona.app.
9. Your Rights
